If you sit in a chair for much of your day or if you drive a lot, many times the lower back starts to ache.
Whenever we’re sitting or standing, the spine compresses and the lower spine takes on much of the weight. Sitting also tightens the hip flexors (or iliopsoas which is the attachment of the thigh to the pelvis and lower back) and as these muscles tighten, the stress on the lower back increases, causing discomfort or pain. Working at a computer or driving can also cause tension and pain in the neck, shoulders and upper back.
This class is focused at stretching all of those areas. If you work in an office or sit a lot during the day, please try to work this class and other yoga classes into your routine at least 3 times per week to keep your body healthy!
