In life, many people are looking for wealth, health and happiness. It is easy to look for these factors in a number of things. Unfortunately, many people chase down these things their entire lives and fail to find them. However, there are four key life factors that play a role in whether or not you’ll experience health and happiness. If these four life factors are in order, you’re on the right trajectory to experience the abundance that life has to offer.

1. Relationships

Someone once stated that it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. Having love in your life makes you a better person. You learn how to care for someone else’s needs and experience companionship. Love doesn’t necessarily need to come in the form of romantic love either. Best friends, parents, siblings and extended family members are wonderful relationships to cultivate.

A person who experiences love in their life is happier because they’re able to share their experiences with someone else. No man is an island. Everyone needs companionship and the knowledge that someone is thinking of them and cares about them.

2. Finances

When a woman is in financial strain, she’s often fearful and in a constant state of anxiety. When a man is in financial strain, this plummets his self-esteem. Unfortunately, many people tie their self-worth to their net worth. While it is important to deal with the self-esteem and anxiety issues separately, learning how to manage and create wealth can help lead to a happier and healthier lifestyle.

You may have to get a degree or certification, take financial courses, or talk to a financial expert to learn ways to improve your situation. If you can find ways to increase your income and reduce your expenses, you can slowly chip away at that financial obstacle. Try to pay off your smaller loans and bills first so that not only can you feel like you are making headway, but you can also have fewer overall payments each month.

3. Education

The more you learn, the more you earn. If you don’t provide value to a company or the marketplace, no one will freely hand you money. Consider going to school to get a degree. Focus on subjects that you know you could do really well in. For example, someone with a lot of business savvy might want to consider going back to school and joining an online MBA program.

Another great option is a degree related to healthcare. There are many two and four year programs and even shorter certifications that can give your salary a boost in a relatively short period of time. Healthcare is a thriving industry that is only expected to grow at a healthy rate in the next decade.

4. Self-Care

When you work yourself to the bone, you’ll find that it’s difficult to function at optimal levels. Take a vacation. Go to the spa. Enjoy a day off with friends. Get a massage. Choose a cut-off time and turn your phone off to relax. Self-care is so important for mental health and physical preservation as well.

Meditation and yoga are extremely underrated ways to improve your mental and emotional wellbeing. And you don’t have to be an athlete to gain the benefits of a regular yoga practice. Start with introductory courses and try to practice yoga 2-3 times a week for maximum benefit. Practicing consistently is extremely important for gaining the positive benefits of yoga.

If the idea of twisting yourself in a number of postures doesn’t strike your fancy, consider meditation. There are simple, effective, and ancient techniques that can make a big difference in your life with consistent practice.

Zazen meditation, for example, is an easy technique where sit cross-legged, with your back straight and your body relaxed. Hold your dominant hand palm up in front of your belly, then place your other hand on top of it so that your fingers are overlapping.

Now touch your thumb tips together above your palms to create an oval shape. Now you will begin taking deep, slow breaths through your nose.

Every breath in and out equals one count. Continue this technique of breath and counting until you reach ten. You can repeat this process if you feel so inclined.

If these four life factors are in order, you’re on the right trajectory to experience the abundance that life has to offer. If you see that your life doesn’t match up with these factors, consider making some serious adjustments. It will be worth it in the long run.
