Essential oils are extracted from a vast variety of plants, and they have the same characteristics and benefits of the plant that they are from, except it is highly concentrated. Many people experience wonderful benefits of using essential oils to improve health conditions, focus more clearly, treat wounds and in many other ways. If you are wondering how you can experience your own success story with essential oils, then there are many easy ways to get started. Here are four fun ways to incorporate essential oils into your daily life.

Make Natural Cleaning Products

Many essential oils are great for disinfecting and cleaning. Add three drops of tea tree oil and three drops of lemon oil to a spray bottle filled with warm water as a great way to clean grimy kitchen counters. Simply spray on, wait a few minutes, and wipe off as the mixture disinfects your countertops. Alternatively, use four drops eucalyptus essential oil and four drops tea tree oil to clean your shower. Mold will disappear and your shower will be sparkly clean along with smelling great. Your home will not only be clean and germ-free, it will smell great too.

Create a Great Smelling Home

Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to a diffuser to create a great smelling home. Many people claim that depending on the oils used, they and their families experience health benefits from smelling the essential oils. Some find that smelling a mixture of two drops of cedar wood, two drops of wild orange, one drop ylang-ylang and one drop patchouli helps them to stop feeling anxious. Others find that smelling lavender, marjoram and frankincense help them get a great night’s sleep. You can use an equal amount of water and rubbing alcohol in an attractive container as the base for your diffuser.

Use Essential Oils in the Bathtub

Many people who know how to use essential oils will add them to a tub full of warm water and soaking in it is a great way to get stress relief while stopping tired muscles from aching. If you would like to try this at home, then simply combine one-third cup apple cider vinegar, one-third cup Epsom salt and one-third cup baking soda. Add 10 drops of peppermint essential oil to the water and soak for 30 minutes. If your skin needs moisturizing, then try adding eucalyptus oil and Epsom salts to your bath water. Stop back pain by adding peppermint, eucalyptus, rosemary, lavender and cinnamon essential oils in your bath along with Epsom salts and bicarbonate soda. Shut the bathroom door and soak away until you feel the cares and pains of the world fade away.

Create Insect Repellants

People often make natural insect repellants for themselves and their animals using essential oils. You can easily make a mosquito repelling lotion by incorporating eight drops tea tree oil, eight drops lavender, eight drops lemongrass, six drops citronella and six drops eucalyptus essential oils into four ounces of coconut oil. In order to use this mixture, simply spread it on any exposed skin before heading outdoors. Add six drops each of citronella, rosemary, tea tree, peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils to a cup of water in a spray bottle. Spray your dog down every other day to keep fleas from attacking. Cedar, rosemary, lemongrass, citronella, cedar, peppermint, lemongrass and lavender can all be effectively used to repel fleas in your house.

Once you start with these ideas you will soon discover how easy it is to incorporate essential oils into many of your daily activities. They are not only fun to use, but they are a great alternative to harsh chemicals in most cases.
