Standup Paddle Board Yoga with Dashama | 42Yogis.com

Stand-up Paddleboard Yoga, or SUP Yoga, is yoga practiced on a 10-12 foot paddleboard on water. SUP Yoga is quickly becoming popular because of its fun fusion. Our dear friend Dashama is at the forefront of the movement.

“What I love about paddleboard yoga is the concept that you’re really connecting to the water element, so you have to learn how to ground into the flow as the water is moving beneath you and connect to that fluidity,” Dashama told the Miami News. “It’s really useful to apply this principle into your everyday life, as things are always changing in life, and really learn to go with the flow.”

Dashama is launching her one-of-a-kind SUP Yoga Teacher Training program in beautiful Miami Beach in October to help yoga teachers expand their class offerings.

During this 4 Day SUP Yoga Teacher Training with Dashama, you will learn how to teach the fun and exciting new fusion style of Sup Yoga. SUP Yoga certification is available for RYT 200 or above certified Yoga Teachers and certified fitness professionals.

During this teacher training, you will learn:

  • the fundamentals of teaching on and off the water
  • water safety
  • teaching to special populations
  • custom SUP yoga routines

You will be required to teach and demonstrate your ability by teaching to the group. You will also have to take a final exam. This course qualifies you to receive 40 hours of CEUs toward your advanced RYT 500 status and can be used for Pranashama Yoga CEUs to maintain your certification as well.

If you are not interested in becoming a SUP Yoga Instructor, you may join the group as a retreat guest and learn all about this innovative form of yoga. And you don’t need to be an advanced yogi to do it either. “I’ve taught people of all ages,” said Dashama. “You can be a beginner and just enjoy more basic poses.”
