Super Cute Yoga Outfits

Yoga is a really great way to get your body moving. It has plenty of health benefits and it is also a lot of fun, especially when you are with a class.

Once you have found a class and have purchased a mat, you will also need to think about what to wear. Yoga attire, as does all attire, has a few do’s-and-don’ts when it comes to choosing the right thing, so it is important to be mindful while shopping for or putting together your outfit.

The following tips will help you to pick out the best options for your yoga session, and you won’t have to sacrifice your personal style either.

Layers are a Must

There are numerous types of yoga, and you need to be prepared for the specific style that you are going to engage in. While some like styles that have a highly heated room, others opt for standard yet beneficial vinyasa classes where it might be cooler pre-warm up.

For this reason, you need to bring layers along with you. A light sweater is sufficient over another top, and you will probably need it until you are finished with your sun salutes. Once warm, just toss it to the side of your mat and keep it close for your cool down later on.

Added bonus – layers always look stylish.

Think About Movement

When choosing yoga attire you really need to be mindful of how your body moves. You don’t want to wear anything that is constricting to your range of motion, since you will be performing poses that move you in every which direction.

Both men and women should go for a sleeveless top for their yoga classes. This will keep you from adjusting your shirt throughout the practice, which can distract your focus. Also, when trying on pants, do a few stretching moves in the dressing room to make sure that they move well.

Don’t Break the Bank

Appropriate and functional yoga clothes don’t need to cost an arm and a leg. There are tons of affordable options out there that get the job done just as well as those “luxury” brands, and they are stylish, too.

Ladies, you can find some great options at any athletic wear store, and even at Victoria’s Secret if you want something super cute. Men, you have the active wear stores, as well, and also some great discount mens clothing options to get you ready for your upcoming class.

Make Sure the Fit is Right

The best thing that you can do to prepare for a yoga class is make sure that your clothing fits appropriately. This doesn’t mean to just wear the correct size, but to also be mindful of the snugness to your body.

Do not wear loose fitting clothing. By wearing clothes that are tighter, but not too tight, you will insure that you don’t accidentally have your shirt fall over your head when you are upside down.

This goes for everyone, not just the ladies. Men, if you are going to wear shorts, make sure that everyone won’t be able to see up them when your leg is stretched up in the air.

Don’t be Too Revealing

There are so many stylish workout gear options available, some of which are a bit on the risqué side. Keep those particular outfits for when you are working out in the comfort of your own home.

For a public yoga class, aim to be a tad more conservative when it comes to attire. Choose a top that doesn’t dip too low, ladies especially, so that you don’t flash everyone. Also, if you choose to wear shorts and not long pants, make sure they are long enough so that you can get through your poses without worry.

Wear Dark Colored Pants

Pink or baby blue might be your favorite color, but you should shy away from them when choosing your pants for a yoga session. Trust me, you will be sweating and those pastels will quickly become see-through in all the wrong places.

Opt for darker hues for the bottom half of your body. You can still look cute by sporting a trendy patterned pair of yoga pants, but get them in the darkest colors that you can.

Make it Your Own

While all of the above tips stress the importance of functionality, it is also essential to make your yoga attire fit your personality. If you love bright colors and designs, pick up a few neon colored tops for your next session. If a laidback style is more you, go for pants with a long, looser leg yet with a tight waistband to keep them in place.

Your yoga gear does not need to be boring, and you can really make them your own. Mix and match fun colors or graphic patterns to change it up now and then. Just make sure that you are comfortable and you will be good to go!
