We live in a fast-paced world with fast food, fast technology, fast internet, and there is an even deeper need to slow down. Constant hustling can be detrimental to our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.

This is where yoga comes in.

Yoga is an ancient science which is more than 5000 years old and has hundreds of benefits for the modern human being.
Yoga helps us slow down and connect with our body, mind, and soul.

Today’s women are superwomen – while taking care of the home, office, children and whatnot.

But being a superwoman isn’t that easy as women face challenges that come in the form of stress, depression, anxiety, back pain and more.

So, how do you manage the stress that comes with being a superwoman?

Yoga.

The ancient wisdom offers many benefits that can change your life for good and help tackle everyday challenges with ease.
Women have been going to yoga classes and attending yoga retreats in India for years as a way to de-stress, heal their body, mind, and soul.

Yoga has been shown to be one of the best ways to manage stress, but here’s how.

Body movement – Energy Movement

Yoga asanas involve a lot of body movements and holding the body in various yogic postures. One of the main benefits of yoga is that it helps with moving the stuck energy in our body with yogic movements and poses.

When we keep moving old energy, our body remains fresh and healthy. Stuck energy leads to diseases, just like still water that starts to get muddy and bad. Running water is always clean and healthy, and the same is true for our energy.

The more women practice yoga, the more they stay fresh and energetically healthy.

Breath Control – Mind Control

Women have so much to think about – household chores, office work, family, friends and a zillion of other things. It is undoubtedly a lot for the mind, and it can get too much if not balanced.

Breath is the easiest way to control the mind. Learning proper breathing during yoga asanas and breath work (Pranayama) can help you control the mind when thoughts get overwhelming.

Proper breathing helps us to come out of our head, which over-thinks and come more into the present moment where there is eternal peace. When we focus on our breath, there is less chance for stress to take over our minds.

Presence

Yoga helps us develop presence. When we can truly be present, we are truly able to respond in the right way. Yoga asanas help with releasing all the stress from the body and so we can come into the present moment.

Once we are in the present moment, we women can deal with any problem most efficiently.

The great spiritual teacher Ram Dass says, “Be here now” which means, come back to presence. The more presence we have within ourselves, the less stressful our lives will be.

Focus

Practicing yoga regularly helps develop a laser-sharp focus where nothing can distract us. Every asana, if performed with focus on the breath and how the body feels, can help us develop deeper concentration.

Once we have deeper concentration and focus on every task we do in our day-to-day lives; there is less space for us to stress about anything. More focus leads to less stress.

Spiritual Growth and Healing

Yoga is an alchemical process, and the workings of yoga are mysterious and magical. Many a time yoga has cured deep-seated diseases as well as physical and emotional ailments.

Yoga asanas help women in releasing stress from the body, and with focus and dedication also leads to healing and spiritual growth.

When we stop stressing about life, and come more into the present, we start to heal and grow spiritually. Yoga means Union. It means union of the body, mind, and soul. It means Union of the masculine and feminine energies within.

When we let go of stress with the help of yoga and meditation, automatically, we start to become more whole and united within.

Clarity

Women work so much, and when we work so much and do so much for others, sometimes we can lose sight of what matters and what is real. As we release stress and become stress-free with the help of yoga, we start to receive more clarity in our minds and hearts about our day-to-day lives and what matters most.

And once we start to receive more clarity, we stop stressing about things.

Trusting the Universe

As we have more clarity, we also develop a deeper trust in life. And as we develop a deeper trust in life, we stop stressing about small things.

With the help of yoga, we understand that we are loved by life, and everything will fall in to place as long as we learn to trust in life. Life is always ready to help us, and all it asks us in return is that we trust in it deeply, and that’s exactly what yoga helps us do.

Patience

The practice of yoga and meditation helps us develop patience with ourselves and our bodies. Sitting in meditation requires a lot of patience, and so does practicing yoga asanas. As we develop more patience, we become masters on how to manage stress in our day-to-day life of work, home, children, and everything else.

Peace

When we practice yoga and meditation, we are left with a deep feeling of peace. Yoga asanas with correct breathwork leave us feeling peaceful and, thus, reduces stress.

Self Awareness

One of the best benefits of yoga and one of the best ways to become a master on how to manage stress is to know ourselves. As women, we need to know who we are and know ourselves on a deeper level.

We stress out about things because we don’t know who we are, and we do not have proper self-knowledge. With the help of yoga and meditation, we can acquire the right knowledge about ourselves and who are.

Stress comes from fear of the unknown.

Knowing thyself is an ancient saying, which means once we know ourselves, we have nothing to fear.
