For all those days where you feel that deep stiffness in your back and shoulders, this yin class is for you. Let’s gently twist and hold and find that relaxing relief!
Today I’m offering a 30 minute beginner friendly yin class to help target different areas of the spine, from top to bottom. Yin yoga works by targeting our more inelastic tissues such as our joints and ligaments, so the goal of yin is slow and controlled sustained pressure over time to help deliver the stretch to the tissues that need it the most.
We’ll be doing fewer poses with longer holds, 3 minutes each, and as always, I use a bell to signal the transition from one pose to the next so you’ll know when it’s coming.
Poses today include:
Twisted Childs Pose
Deer Pose
Twisted Dragon Pose
Twisted Sleeping Swan Pose
Twisted Roots Pose
Corpse Pose
My hope is to offer a wide selection of yoga classes at various levels to help you establish a regular home yoga practice, so repeat this video as often as you like, or explore others! But either way, let your time on the mat be only for you! Remind yourself of how strong and beautiful you are, just as you are. You’ve got this, let’s go!
Today’s affirmation: I practice gratitude for all that I have, and all that is yet to come.
As always, thanks for watching,
