Announcing Pop.Up Yoga Classes for Autistic Kids

Pop

Pop.Earth, a New York-based non-profit providing free or low cost holistic services to children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities, today announced the launch of their first out of state mobile Pop.UP Yoga classes in partnership with Colorado business Root Health. The first day of the four-month program with two yoga sessions kicks off July 26 in Boulder, Colorado.

Founded in 2012, Pop.Earth utilizes a unique ‘franchise’ model in order to partner with qualified agencies and businesses, granting local communities nationwide access to holistic services and activities in the form of Pop.UP classes. Root Health Founder Chris Capitelli, a licensed massage therapist, registered yoga teacher and craniosacral therapist, will be teaching Pop.UP yoga classes for a four month period under the direct training and supervision of Pop.Earth.

“I know how high the cost of alternative choices for special needs can be and founded Pop.Earth in 2012 to combat that,” says Founder Debbie Stone, whose son Dylan was diagnosed with Autism at age four. “Expanding our Pop.UP class program to Colorado under Chris’ leadership is exhilarating for us. We’re excited to be able to offer parents and their children an outlet for the unique challenges of these disorders.”

“Many families with autistic children and teens find that alternative treatments prove effective, but can also be expensive,” says Chris Capitelli, the founder of Root Health, who will be teaching the classes. “When I discovered Pop.Earth, I knew I had to see if there was a chance to work with them and develop a program here in Colorado. I’m elated to offer a yoga program tailored to special needs.”

The two classes will be held in Boulder, CO on July 26th at 1750 29th Street, #2020. Young Yogis, a class for children ages 5-10, will be from 11am-12pm; a teen & pre-teen class runs 12:30pm-1:30pm. To RSVP, visit http://www.roothealthco.com or http://www.popearth.org.
