Welcome to your Somatic Yoga: A Journey to Self-Compassion program. I’ve written several blog posts on somatic yoga that you might find interesting. You can learn about what somatic yoga is, the benefits, and explore somatic exercises here: https://www.yogawithrachelmarie.com/blog
We have arrived!! Welcome to day 7, the final day of our somatic yoga journey to self-compassion.
Today’s practice is unique in that we begin and end with a guided practice, while leaving space in the middle for intuitive movement.
Listening to and honoring your body’s sensations is an amazing way to build self-trust and confidence. Part of this practice is unguided, offering you the space to really tune into your body’s inner wisdom, encouraging you to move in a way that feels nourishing and authentic to you. Trust that your body knows what it needs, and allow your sensations to lead the way.
I decided not to include music during the unguided portion of this practice to minimize external distractions. The silence can offer you the space to really tune into your body sensations. With that said, I can appreciate that it may feel better to listen to music as you move. I welcome you to explore what feels best for you.
Reconnecting with yourself and rediscovering the compassion that already exists within you is such a beautiful gift. May you continue to nurture and carry compassion with you, both on and off the mat.
Feel free to return to this somatic yoga program whenever it feels good.
It has been an honor to serve as your guide throughout this journey.
I appreciate each and every one of you 🤗
Sending you love, light, and gratitude 🩷
