What is Yin Yoga?
Yin yoga is a style of yoga where poses are held for a longer time with relaxed muscles and often with a support of various yoga props. Yin poses are mostly done either seated or lying down, and props are used either under or on top of the body so that we can release tension in the muscles and let the body rest in the poses.
This doesn’t, however, mean that Yin yoga would be easier than the more dynamic yoga styles. Sometimes, stillness and silence can be more challenging, but it can be very healthy to pause, notice the breath, and just observe the body and the mind. Especially, if your daily life is hectic, then Yin yoga can offer some balance and a much needed break amongst all the busyness.
