A big part of this Yoga Mat Week project for me was learning how DIFFERENT all these mats were. There are open-cell vs closed-cell mats (I have a video on this called Jade vs Manduka if you don’t know what this means), mats that use natural rubber (which contains latex) and mats that are latex free!

So when it comes to cleaning your your yoga mat, there is no one-size fist all approach. In this video, I go over the correct way to clean some of the bigger yoga mat brands and how to make your own yoga mat cleaner that is safe for most mats.

But bottom line: you MUST read the cleaning instructions for your specific brand of mat, as what these mats need to stay clean varies WIDELY.
